Lively aromas of crushed currant, berry, lavender and green peppercorns are fresh and complex on the nose of this bottling of the Estrella clone. It's taut and still quite young on the palate, where clean lines of baked boysenberry and black plum mingle with purple flowers. — Matt Kettmann
Profile
Aromas of dark fruit, dried herbs, with a hint of cedar and tobacco fill the glass. The palate upon entry is mid-weight with flavors of blackberry and blueberry fruit below the aromatics of mint spice and earthiness.
Production Notes
Fermentation: 100% de-stemmed and fermented with native yeast in an open top 1 ton fermentor on skins for 10 days, gently basket pressed
Aging: 20% new French oak on lees for 11 months
Bottled: Without fining or filtering
